Former NebGolf Intern to Release Book, Little Poison

OMAHA (March 1, 2023) – Omaha's John Dechant, a former Nebraska Golf Association intern joined the NebGolf Podcast presented by OrthoNebraska to talk about the release of his new book, and his days as an intern.

Dechant is nearing release of his latest book, Little Poison, on April 1 (NebGolf members can order for 40% off, see the March 1 newsletter for more). Dechant, a former Creighton Bluejay golfer, interned for NebGolf in 2005.

Little Poison is the story of Paul Runyan, an Arkansas farm boy who stood five feet, six inches and weighed 130 pounds; and shocked the golf world by defeating long and lean, sweet-swinging Sam Snead in the finals of the 1938 PGA Championship, thus earning the nickname “Little Poison.” Runyan did more than beat Snead: he shellacked him as decisively as David toppled mighty Goliath.

NebGolf members can purchase Little Poison with a 40% discount by using the discount code in the March 1 newsletter at the University of Nebraska Press website.
