Csipkes, Sajevic and Junge Qualify for U.S. Mid-Amateur

Qualifying Conducted on Tuesday at Riverside Golf Club

GRAND ISLAND (August 8, 2023) - Omaha's Brian Csipkes, Andy Sajevic and Matthew Junge advanced through qualifying for the 42nd U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, earning their spots at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island on Tuesday.

Csipkes and Sajevic earned medalist honors and two of the three qualifying spots with rounds of 67 (-5). It's a third-straight year earning a spot in the championship for Sajevic, while Csipkes has qualified for his fifth U.S. Mid-Amateur.

Junge earned his spot through a playoff, after both he and Elkhorn's Ryan Nietfeldt both shot rounds of 68 (-4). Junge secured the spot on the second playoff hole.

Nietfeldt is the first alternate, while Bennington's Johnny Spellerberg is the second alternate after a 69 (-3).

Csipkes, Sajevic and Junge will play next at the 42nd U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, New York, September 9-14.
