Bellevue University, Midland University/Hastings College are First Round Leaders at Nebraska Intercollegiate

Round One Conducted Friday at Lochland Country Club

HASTINGS (October 4, 2024) - The first round of the 2024 Nebraska Intercollegiate was conducted on Friday at Lochland Country Club Club in Hastings, and Bellevue University leads the women's division, while Midland University and Hastings College are tied for the lead in the men's race.

Bellevue had the top three individual scores during the first round, and leads by six strokes with a tournament record 307 (+19). The Bruins lead over Wayne State College (+30), two-time champions at the Nebraska Intercollegiate.

Chloe Blandinieres led Bellevue, firing the low round to take the lead in the individual race at 74 (+2). She leads by two strokes over two teammates, IY Ibnu and Tilde-Li Andersson, who both shot rounds of 76 (+4) and are tied for second.

On the men's side, Midland and Hastings are tied after both posted rounds of 293 (+5). Both teams also have a player tied for the individual lead. The individual leaderboard is packed near the top, with five players tied at 70 (-2).  Janlo Zaayman of Midland University and Henry Kosmicki of Hastings College paved the way for their teams to get into the lead, each finishing at 2-under.

The group tied at 70 (-2) also includes Bellevue University's Thomas Gatlin, Concordia University's Jake Hagerbaumer and Northeast Community College's Jacob Harnden. Blake Eddy of Hastings College was the only other player to break par, with a round of 71 (-1) to move into sixth.

Three players are tied for seventh at 72 (E), including Nebraska Wesleyan University teammates Geran Sander and Brayden Schram and Mads Svendsen of Southeast Community College. Kyle Dale of Bellevue University, Trevin Cunningham of Midland University and Trey Baehr of Southeast Community College round out the top 10 at 73 (+1).

Nebraska Wesleyan is third in the team race at 295 (+7), while Northeast CC and Southeast CC are tied for fourth at 298 (+10).

On the women's side, Doane University and the University of Nebraska-Kearney are tied for third at 324 (+36), behind Bellevue and Wayne State.

In the individual race, Wayne State's Erica Lee trails the Bellevue trio in fourth at 78 (+6). Two of her teammates, Camryn Johnson and Hailey Kenkel, are tied for fifth at 79 (+7), along with Sofia Wildeman of UNK. Doane teammates Sydney Streeter and Payton Morgan are tied for eighth at 80 (+8).

Five players are tied for 10th, including Bruins Maria Pinedo and Aaricia Noel-Traissac, Lopers Beth Grant and Mia Farrar, and Doane Tiger Connie Jarm, who all shot rounds of 81 (+9).
