Kolbas, Klonowski Qualify for U.S. Girls' Junior
BEEMER (June 7, 2021) – Lincoln's Nicole Kolbas and Addison Klonowski of Naples, Florida advanced to the 2021 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship on Monday through qualifying at Indian Trails Country Club in Beemer.
Kolbas and Klonowski are both in the 2023 high school class, and shared medalist honors with rounds of 75 (+4). Kolbas attends Lincoln Pius X High School and is the reigning NSAA Class A Champion.

It was a strong start for Kolbas, who made birdie on the par-3 second hole, but three straight bogeys produced a front nine 37 (+2). After a few more bogeys on the back nine, Kolbas closed strong with an eagle-3 on the par-5 17th to get back in front and earn her spot.
Klonowski also made an early birdie on the par-5 third, but bogeys led to a front nine 37 (+2) as well. After a birdie on No. 12, Klonowski held on down the tough finishing stretch for a back nine 38 (+2).
Two players tied at 76 (+5), and a playoff for the alternate positions followed. Emily Wilson of Brentwood, Tennessee is the first alternate, and Katie Ruge of Omaha is the second alternate.
