12 Days of Champions | 2022
OMAHA (December 15, 2022) - It's time to celebrate the Nebraska Golf Association's 2022 Champions with our annual 12 Days of Champions! We'll be showcasing each of our 13 state champions on social media leading up to Christmas.
Bennington's Blake Giroux & Elkhorn's Ryan Nietfeldt put on a clinic in TOUGH conditions to win the 21st Nebraska Four-Ball at The Players Club Omaha by FOUR strokes.
A June week at Platteview Golf Club produced two Nebraska Junior Match Play champions. Omaha's Kaitlyn Hanna captured her second Nebraska Golf Association title and Omaha's Jackson Benge picked up his first, in style.
She already owned two Nebraska Girls' Match Play titles, but Elkhorn's Megan Whittaker added to her 1v1 resume in 2022. The 99th Nebraska Women's Match Play Champ kicked off a breakthrough summer at Elks Country Club in Columbus.

The first to beat par at Firethorn Golf Club and the first non-American to win the Nebraska Amateur. Creighton golfer Shaun Campbell of New Zealand was the 114th Nebraska Amateur CHAMP.
The 13th sweep of the Nebraska Golf Association's women's championships and first since 2016. Elkhorn's Megan Whittaker closed it out at Wilderness Ridge Country Club in Lincoln, capturing the 48th Nebraska Women's Amateur.
A venue that produces true champions, Beatrice Country Club. Omaha's Katie Ruge won the first 54-hole Nebraska Girls' Amateur and Elkhorn's Trevor Gutschewski went wire-to-wire to join his brother as a Nebraska Junior Amateur Champ.
His first full year on the senior circuit, and Gretna's Brian Csipkes wasted no time collecting trophies. The 24th Nebraska Senior Amateur Champ brought home his first title at Champions Run Omaha.

Back-to-back and the ONLY Nebraska Women's Mid-Amateur Champion. Lincoln's Carrie Bostar won the 2nd edition of the championship in comeback fashion at Fremont Golf Club.
Three eagles in one round. A record-setting 135 (-11) total. His second title of the year. Back-to-Back. Bennington's Johnny Spellerberg put on a show at Landmand Golf Club in Homer to win the 24th Nebraska Mid-Amateur Championship.

The Nebraska Golf Association, founded in 1966, is comprised of all members of public and private clubs and/or municipal or regional golf associations which utilize an approved handicap service recognized by the USGA and provided by the NGA. Our mission is to uphold and promote the game of golf and its values to all golfers in Nebraska. Among the duties of the Association include governance of member clubs and service as their handicapping and course rating authority, conduct of state golf championships, local USGA qualifying & other notable competitions, promotion of junior golf, presentation of worthwhile educational programs and support of allied golf organizations in Nebraska.
